Are you a tribe leader or a tribe member?

“The web can do amazing things but it can’t provide leadership. That has to come from individuals with passion.” Seth Godin.

I took the chance to catch up on some reading this bank holiday and decided to read “Tribes” by Seth Godin. Working within the technology sector a lot of things instantly struck with me.

Seth mentions constantly throughout the book how new technologies available to “groups” are transforming the meaning of communication (tribal communication). Leaders are grabbing these tools and introducing them to their TRIBE.

There were three main points that resonated with me:

  1. “The internet eliminates geography” – this opens every door imaginable for your tribes, whether you’re part of one or whether you lead one. You can spread the word, communicate and connect with literally anyone, worldwide.
  2. “There’s an explosion of new tools available to help lead the tribes we’re forming” Nothing is stopping you start or lead your tribe, there are many tools that help solve communication problems and make your tribes effective enabling them to amplify their work. At Crugo we pride ourselves on being an all in one solution making collaboration simple!
  3. “Change almost never fails because it’s too early. It almost always fails because it’s too late” Leaders need to eliminate saying “no”, “not yet” and “let’s wait and see”. Embrace change! Don’t wait for innovation to knock at your door, reap the benefits before its too late.

We live in a world that is constantly challenging us and offering us endless resources. Technology is ever- changing and is vital within the business world.

Check the book out yourself and if you have any questions on how Crugo can help your tribe or help you lead your tribe more effectively do not hesitate in contacting.

Thanks for your time.
